Description
Single Origin Peruvian Moche Specialty Coffee
Named after the ancient Moche civilisation, this single-origin coffee comes from the high-altitude Cajamarca region of northern Peru.
The region’s rich volcanic soils, tropical rainfall and ideal climate create excellent conditions for growing high-quality Arabica coffee. Traditional northern Peruvian varieties dominate the crop, with Caturra forming the backbone of its flavour profile.
Smallholder producers harvest the coffee during the middle of the season. Each farmer processes the beans on their own farm using hand-pulping machines and fermentation tanks, before carefully drying them on patios or raised beds.
The supply chain is closely managed from farmer to customer to ensure the coffee meets the standards of the Freemans Community Coffee Project. This provides economic transparency and greater traceability for every contributing household.
This single origin Peruvian Moche speciality coffee is a medium roast with notes of dark chocolate, brown sugar and hazelnut.
For brewing at home, we recommend using an AeroPress to bring out its smooth body, natural sweetness and chocolatey finish.
