Description

Single Origin Ethiopian Guji Megadu Speciality Coffee comes from Bette Buna’s own farm in Megadu, one of the most remote communities in Guji, Ethiopia. Bette Buna is the producer of this coffee, growing and processing the lot themselves while also working with farmers and community leaders across the region. Megadu is mountainous and densely forested, with rich soils and excellent conditions for growing high-quality speciality coffee.

Bette Buna, meaning ‘House of Coffee’, combines coffee production with community development. Alongside running their own farm, they support local farmers with improved growing practices, climate-adapted coffee seedlings, fair employment and highly transparent supply chains.

This lot uses Bette Buna’s unique ‘kickstart’ natural process, developed by their processing team to enhance sweetness and body. After picking, the coffee cherries spend a short time in an anaerobic environment before the natural drying process begins. This helps concentrate the sugars within the fruit before the cherries are dried slowly on raised African beds.

The result is a complex Single Origin Ethiopian Guji Megadu Speciality Coffee with notes of Plum, Raspberry, Raisins, Tamarind, Cacao Nibs & Dark Chocolate.

For brewing at home, we recommend Filter or French Press to highlight its natural sweetness, full body and layered flavour.
