Description

Single Origin Peruvian Moche Speciality Coffee comes from the high-altitude Cajamarca region of northern Peru. It is named after the ancient Moche civilisation, which flourished in the region centuries ago.

Cajamarca’s rich soils, tropical rainfall and high elevations provide excellent conditions for growing high-quality Arabica coffee. Caturra forms the backbone of this lot, supported by Pache, Bourbon and smaller amounts of Typica.

Smallholder farmers harvest and process the coffee on their own farms using hand-pulping machines and fermentation tanks. The coffee is then carefully dried on patios or raised beds.

The supply chain is managed from farmer to customer through the Freemans Community Coffee Project, providing greater traceability and economic transparency for the contributing households.

This Single Origin Peruvian Moche Speciality Coffee is medium roasted, with notes of Dark Chocolate, Brown Sugar & Hazelnut.

For brewing at home, we recommend Espresso, Moka Pot, AeroPress or French Press to bring out its smooth body, natural sweetness and chocolatey finish.
